Thomas's Story
I am the type of person that has difficulty remembering what I had for breakfast this morning and can easily recall something that happened in '68. I was not however, active in sports or social activities that much at Saguaro. I did participate in a Kundalini Yoga class that was held on Saguaro campus. Yes, on campus. I also worked. I worked at Scottsdale's premier cowboy bar, the Handlebar-J, and later the Tastee Freez that was on the corner of Scottsdale and Shea. I was a good distance from ...Expand for more
both Cocopah and Saguaro, so I came in on bus alot. I was actually born in northern Indiana, and after my father passed when I was four and half years old, my mother remarried a few years later and Arizona was on the agenda. So I grew up with Wallace and Ladmo and Captain Kirk and the Indian Guides and the way the desert air smells after a monsoon and going to Sedona and the Grand Canyon the Scottsdale Parada Del Sol and all that stuff like many of us did.
