Thomas's Story

After leaving Lexington Henry Clay HS, I graduated from Charleston George Washington HS. I attended Denison Univeristy and graduated in 1971 with a BA in History. Next stop was West Virginia University School of Medicine. I did my residency in Akron, Ohio from 1975-1979. Upon graduation in Ob/Gyn, I moved to Johnson City, TN where I have practiced for the last 30 years. In August of 2009, I was named Interim Chairman of the Department of Ob/Gyn at the college of medicine here in Johnson City. n and one 14 year old dog. I still run in road races and ride bicycles with my grandchildren. I consider myself an historian with a medical degree. I received my MA from the local univeristy in 2005. I wrote on my great grand uncle's experiences in the American Civil War. As of April 1, 2011 I accepted the job as Permanent Chairman of the Department of OB/GYN. My Department has 10 faculty, 13 residents, and 30 staff. I am teaching daily to residents or medical students almost daily. The Department has just implemented the electronic health record.
