Thomas's Story
Life
I did not grad. Edison went there only to 10th grade however I was a West Side guy up until my 18th birthday. I was a member of the Red Devils social and athletic club I was not that athletic so I tended more towards the social side of things, ,the principle of Edison asked my mother at one of the many, many meetings they had to take me home for the rest of the year Feb. 54, that summer Aug. to be exact I joined the Air Force. I didn`t have any thing else to do anyhow! I was stationed at Samson AFB on lake Geneva in upstate NY for boot camp just before completion of boot camp, the tech. sgt discovered we had missed a day on the firing line so we were marched over to take care of it in the coldest rain I can remember had doggone near gotten frostbite picking up brass.shipped out of there to Cheyenne Wyoming Warren AFB coldest and windest place I had ever been in my life , up to that point, while there ran into a guy from Stockton CA. reminded me of West Side R.D. friends wound up with so many art.15`s my 201 file looked like websters dictionary Shipped to Eilson AFB ,territory of Al...Expand for more

Ca. buddy followed 3weeks later same problems with Art. 15,s he however wound up in territorial jail when he got out of jail A.F. could do nothing as it would have been double Jeopardy. in the mean time i had shipped to March AFB Riverside Ca. A month later CA buddy arrived (first warm place I had ever been sent to) March 58 my CA. Buddy and I lost our stripes given 30 days and fined 2/3rds pay for assualting Nco`s we did not know they were Nco`s at the tme of the altercation the following June I took an early out when`t to Fullerton city college Full. Ca. earned regents from NY met a Ca. Girl married her. went to work and to school nights earned an Associats degree thinking of teaching. Children started to arrive went to full time work went back to school nights to Pepperdine U.in Malibu Ca. earned Ba in mgmt. Been married 49 yrs had 4 children 9 grand children,1 greatgrand child and been ret. for about 15 yrs. do to health problems. I`m enjoying life but you know you can take the boy out of the old Mt. Vernon but you can never take the old Mt. Vernon out of the boy.
