Thomas's Story

Life Married Trudy (Gertrude Maurer, class of '56) in 1958. Lived in Philly area until 1970-and had four kids: Terry, Andrea, Darrell, and Christian. Lived in Roswell,GA thru '70's; St.Charles,IL thru '80's' and in Charlotte,NC area until 2012 I worked in technical sales from 1970 until 2012 when I retired. Kids are scattered around the country. We have 5 grandchildren: Anna, Luke and Danielle in Illinois; Tara and Reese in Georgia. I've been active in environmental causes and in non-elected politics. Did lot of youth sports coaching some years back. Our boys were far better athletes than their dad. Darrell was Illinois all-state catcher and played two years of minor league baseball. gree (BSME) at Drexel night school in '63. Completed MBA studies in 1970 at Drexel. Workplace Co-op'd with what was then Yarnall-Waring Co (became Yarway Corp), of Chestnut Hill, in 1957. Joined them full time in 1958 and stayed until 1987. Early years were in engineering. Went into outside sales in 1970 transferring to Atlanta; then to Chicago; and, finally, to Charlotte in '86. Offered and accepted early retirement in '87. "Retired" on Friday and joined R E Mason Co, on following Monday. We are a technical sales agency- Fisher Controls and other lines to the Power Industry. I retired in 2012 and we moved to Dahlonega, GA to be close to some of our grandkids and their parents Military Military career consisted of 10 years in the PA Air National Guard- where I was present for all meetings and summer drills. Honorable discharge in 1964 with E7 rank.
