Wow! What a life! I worked many different jobs. You know Just Over Broke type of things. Sometimes two at a time to make ends meet. Having been married and raising 5 children, I had to do what I needed to do to put food on the table. I divorced my wife in 1994, Quit my job. relocated back to San Bernardino, California. Became an Educational Assistant with the County Schools. That is when I realized that an education would work wonders. I started going to National University, in San Bernardino in 2000. It seemed like a whirl wind of activity, then it was time to graduate in 2003. Getting a BA in three years meant a lot of committment and staying focused. With that in my
backpack in 2003, I now have my teaching credential and teach in the Juvenile Court School system.
I am now a credentialed (highly qualified; NCLB) teacher with the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools, and work at
the Central Juvenile Hall in San Bernardino. I will finish my Masters in Curriculum and Instrction( two more classes)UPDATE!!!!!MARCH 23 I DID IT. GRADUATION CEREMONY IS MAY 25)by the end of March. Well, As the world turns so does life. I got my Masters and taught in Juvwenile hall then when I had 10 +_ years in I retired and moved back to South Bend, Indiana. This is where Iwas born and left when I was 17. Substitute teachers don't make what the do in California---neither do the teachers and their retirement system is horrible; so I retired completly except for officiating Arena Pro Football. I still do that along with being a member of the Game Management Team at the University of Notre Dame. I have remarried and am really excited about my new life.
Workplace
Truck Driver/Salesman/ Ambulance Driver to working for Kaiser Steel as a Welder/Layout person for 15 years highlighted a career of not having enough education. Kaiser Closed in 84 so I went to work for the State of California Department of Correction; teaching inmates how to weld and read blueprints. In 2000 I started college. I should have done this 40 years sooner. Finished my BA in '03; credential in '04; will finish Masters in March of '06; (two more classes). I want to be a Principal, or Associate Superintendent.
