Thomas's Story
Life
I went into the Navy after graduating in 1983 and served until late 1995. Until I moved to Indiana, I had been to more foreign countries than our own States. I am a Persian Gulf War Veteran. I had my career cut short by injuries sustained while on active duty.
I am married with four wonderful children. I am a late bloomer and have ran two Indianapolis Mini Marathons (13.1 miles) in 2003/2004. I have lived in Indiana since 1993. My service-connected disabilities have increased and I am rated at 100% disabled since May 2004.

Military
I served in the US Navy from August 1983-May 1987 and again from September 1988-November 1995. I made three overseas deployments (Cold War) and two tours of the Persian Gulf: (Operation Earnest Will) & (Operation Desert Shield).
I was honorably discharged in Nov 1995 due to service-connected disabilities.
Since April 2007 I have suffered from 6 TIAs (Mini-stokes), seizures, lung disease, heart disease and internal bleeding. Fortunately, God is still and control and every day is a gift with my family.
