O.K. I was attending school as a Communication Arts major with a minor in Theater. I began to go to the university auditions, but soon found myself faced with the senior actors and they just blew me away. College Theatre was an intense place- comprised of what I considered very "unique" people, and unlike anything I'd ever experienced before. Well, I decided to regroup and try something a little bit more "me", a terrain less out-there...so Radio/TV/Communication Arts program it was.
Eventually (fast-forward just 2-years) I went back to the theatre with more experience and maturity and fell completely in love with the stage, the people, and my wonderful acting teacher/theatre-professor/director-"Adeline Hershefeld-Medalia."
While rehearsing a small-stage theatre production at Oakland University, I became involved with a beautiful girl & Marion High School graduate. Now at that time (still a starving actor) I realistically couldn't afford to get married. So it was then that I decided to step out into the business world to make a better living.
We were married in 1979 and one year later our daughter was born, 2 yrs after that our son came and that became our family. But since I'd already been bitten by the acting bug- I occasionally went back to Oakland and visited my acting teacher, Adeline, and acted in a couple of her plays(I'm an addict, for performing on stage). Now during this same time, Trent had moved to California (I think it was around 1980)and eventually my entire family (parents, sisters too) did too.
By 1990 the company I worked for was going under ( part of the S&L debacle), so we decided- what the hell, let's sell our home and move to San Diego too.

ent had created a very informative radio talk-show in San Diego, focused on real estate & mortgages. Being the nice guy that he is, he offered me a spot- his side-kick (to add comedy relief) and man did we had a blast!
By 2002, the kids were grown, and I started my "mid-life crisis." I heard about a local dinner theater troupe that was looking for a replacement, and considering it was just 6-8 weeks, why not?! Well...it ended up running for a year, yeah- 12 months! Now that was my magical mystery tour! Soon after that a talent agent signed me, and I started auditioning for non-union gigs. Then came acting classes & workshops; theatre voice & movement, cold-reading, character analysis, scene study, improvisation(Groundlings- L.A.), voice-over & narration, most of what I've learned is based on the "Method"- Stanislavsky & Stella Adler principles of acting. Now going into my 6th year, I still continue to attend the same school in San Diego studying under a former student of Stella's.
What a ride. I've cool things, eventually signed with a L.A. talent agent. I'm a full-time SAG actor. I'm always on the look-out for the next great project, so if you have one or know of someone who's got one- I love to read plays and scripts.
Contact me for the links to my professional resume and video reels (in case you know someone, who knows someone...the 6 degrees of separation phenomenon). We're not allowed to insert any web addresses here, and I must follow the rules. I'm on the "other" popular sites that show your face...book, & my..space, and you...tube. Thanks for any connections, they're what we actors need. ThurmanDalrymple .com
