Tia's Story
Life
I live in SW FL with my 4 kids age 9-16. My husband is a hospice patient in a nursing home. Ryan is 38 and has a rare, terminal disease that I detest with more passion than I usually muster about anything.
I'm a very laid back person, I own exactly 1 pair of closed toe and heel shoes, (and about 20 prs of flip flops). Life is much slower down here than in Mn. The few times I've been up to visit since I left 16 yrs ago I become very amazed at the pace of things in Mn. Why is everyone in such a hurry? I like spending time with my friends and with my kids. inability to speak and even sometimes recognize me, remains my best friend and the best man I have ever known.
While my life has not always been easy, I still say my life has been good thus far. It has been a privilege to have Ryan as my husband and I consider it a privilege to walk with him on his final path home. My children are amazing people that I genuinely like. They are all witty, sarcastic, surprising and intelligent and I am excited to see what they will do with their lives.
My goals are to finish my degree in special ed one day and to find the perfect vacuum. I keep breaking them and it gets frustrating.
