Tiffany's Story

Life (This is my first bio on this account so I'll catch up on everything.) In the past two years a lot has happened. Once graduation was over, I continued my job until October. On October 28, 2003 I left for Great Lakes, IL. where I went to Navy basic training. I spent thirteen weeks there through the warm months, cold months, and finally toward the spring I got out of boot camp. When I graduated boot camp I went down the street to my A School, Naval Hospital Corps School Great Lakes. How exciting to still have been in the same area it was...but, I learned how to be a Hospital Corpsman(HM). And an HM in the navy is similar to an LPN in the civilian sector. I was there until June 2003, and took up orders to no other than Portsmouth, VA. For those who may not know where that is, it is 30 minutes from Virginia Beach. So, I got to enjoy sunny weather and clear skies when I got here. Not too long after arriving, I met Omar. We have been together since July of last year and are now married as of April 16 this year. No kids yet, not for a few years. Right now Omar is on a ship overseas off the west coast. He's already visited Japan, and now Australia. But he'll be back home before too long, and things will be normal again somewhat. I've now been in Portsmouth for a year. I have one year left here in VA and then plan to pcs to San Diego, CA. I go visit home when I can and try to at least every few weekends. It's a 6 and 1/2 hours drive if going the speed limit, but if you're me, you make it in 4 to 4 and 1/2. But the drive is worth it to see my family while I can. Right now I am working in the Naval Hospital in P-town, and have been on night shift until now. I am starting to work day shift this weekend and it will be a drastic change after almost a year on nights. Hopefully the next times I go home I will see more of the people I graduated with, and if not, hope that everyone is doing well for themselves. Change: (Written May 21, 2008) Well, I wrote that bio above in 2005, and a lot has happened since then. Omar ...Expand for more
and I are no longer together and don't talk, which is better that way. He moved to Virginia in 2006 and is still living here. The whole thing was a mistake, and we all make those. I learned from that mistake more than anyone can ever know. The best thing that could have happened was us splitting up. Right now I'm still working in Portsmouth at the Hospital but no longer on the Ward. I work in a clinic and have great hours and I have weekends off as well as holidays. I'm due to get out of the Navy this year and plan to get a GS job in the Hospital and eventually transfer to Balboa Hospital in San Diego. I've been wanting to move back to California, just have always been scared. Right now, as far as love goes, I'm with a wonderful guy named Ray. He's very sweet and treats me like a queen. Things are kind of serious but neither of us is in any rush, just will see where this goes :) As for family, my sister moved out to Virginia Beach with me in 2007 and now lives down the road from me. My dad and step-mom still live in Cali and my mom and step-dad still live here in Virginia, I still visit all of them when I can. As the World Turns: (Written Sept 10, 2008) So some things have changed now. I got out of the Navy on July 31, 2008 and am now working as a Medical Assistant in a Urology Clinic. It's pretty nice being a civilian again. My favorite phrase now is "I can do what I want, when I want, and I don't have to route a chit to do it!" and my second fave is "I get paid overtime!!". Another change is that I'm single again, and will remain that way for a while. Had a bad break-up with Ray and got hurt pretty bad. So, I'm in no rush to get into a relationship any time soon. My goal is to enjoy the single life for a long time, and not stress about guys at all. I'm just gonna be me and do whatever I want to do without having to worry about anyone else. I'm too young to be tied down anyhow, so why rush it again? Other than that though, not much else new going on. Things are getting better with time, and I'm fabulous :)
