Tikiya's Story
Life
I'm was born in Mound Bayou, MS. Shortly after, my family moved to Michigan City, IN. Then we moved to Milwaukee, WI. The elementary schools I attended were Green Bay Avenue, 20th Street School, 31st Street School, and Maple Tree Elementary School. While growing up, sometimes I had a behavior problems, but I always seemed to make the Honor Roll. I was a "bad nerd". I was the class valedictorian and received top honors for community service at Parkman Middle School. Once I commenced from there, I found myself at Vincent High School. I was kicked out of Vincent High School because I brought a gun to school. After Vincent, I attended Madison High School. I stayed there for about 1 1/2 years and was released for suspicion of gang behavior. I went to Southeatern Alternative School and decided to get my life back on track. ter. I graduated from North Division High School with honors. Thereafter, I attended Alverno College for their Elementary Education program with a focus in Mathematics. I worked full-time as an Early Childhood Teacher at a local day care and couldn't quite balance out being a student, employee, and a full-time parent. I dropped out of school and continued to work. In 2003, I enrolled at Cardinal Stritch University for their Sociology program. My current focus is in Criminal Justice. With my background, go figure, right? On a more serious note, I figured out my notch. I like making differences in other people's lives (more like being a positive influence). I mainly interact with families and children. Speaking of families, I am currently adding on to my own. I am engaged to become married and I'm due to deliver my second baby girl on May 3, 2005. If you'd like to know more, hit me up.
