Tim's Story

You know it's a funny thing, as much as I disliked High School there are times these day's that I really miss it. Am I sick or what? (just kidding) Anyway, here goes my life and times after High school. After graduation (Friday June 13th 1980) I went on to College of the Redwoods where I began my pursuit of a career in Law Enforcement I spent 1 year at C/R then moved to Santa Rosa and enrolled in Santa Rosa Junior College where I continued my Law Enforcement education and training I attended the extended basic academy. Then the spring of 1983 the best possible thing happened to me, during a training scenario. I realized that I had an issue with using firearms. You see during the scenario, it became necessary to fire my gun. Unfortunately, ( if you want to be a policeman ) I discovered that it was necessary for me to think about my actions, my instructors told me if I hesitate it could cost the lives of innocent people. Well as you can imagine I was at a crossroads. I chose to hang-up my gun belt, though I continued my education as it was very helpful with the career I chose. I left college in February of 1984 and worked several odd jobs. The oddest of which was living in my car and selling ride tickets for Butler Amusements. That job lasted 9 months. In January 1986, I decided to settle down. I moved to Sunnyvale California, got an apartment and a job working security. I worked at several different locations in the Silicon Valley. The best location was the Holiday Inn in Palo Alto....when on June first 1988, I met the woman who I was going to spend the rest of my life with. Her name is Cheryl and she is my soulmate. We married in September 1991. We live with our 2 furry kids......Pandilyn and Mausi Boy. (pronounced like noisy ) who are both 6 years old. We are in the same apartment that I moved into in 1986. In September 2000, I asked Jesus Christ into my heart and was baptized. There is one thing that is absolutely clear....The longer we tredge, through this existance we call life, we face many challenges but through all of these challenges, Jesus walks by my side. ( I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me) Philipians 4:13. I turned 46 this year and though there are some things I would have liked to end better. In all honesty, I wouldn't change a thing. Thank You all for the memories Tim Cantlon The following are the answers to the "STORY WIZARD" I hope to be remembered as a friendly classmate I always wanted to be a helpful person when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were right. I try not to blow off too much steam because for me, it might be dangerous so I...Expand for more
guess what I prefer to do is relax and watch a good Nascar race. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have Starbucks, comfortable chair, and a boss who trusts me to be able to deal with the day-to-day. Jesus Christ: From him I draw my inspiration I lived in Eureka for 19 years then, moved to Santa Rosa to continue college. In 1986 I moved to Sunnyvale where it NEVER rains to start my career and am still living here today with my gorgeous wife Cheryl The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Brice Barker, because He was my best friend in high school.. My passion is Nascar ! My obsession is trying to make people happy. My biggest surprise was getting married If I could improve my home, I'd remodel my kitchen and add on a hot tub. My dream home would be log cabin on a lake with a second story loft master bedroom with a spiral staircase. What I have learned from my brothers and sisters kids is to not have any. Don't get me wrong, I love my nieces and nephews - all 17 of them but when they were younger, and I was allowed to babysit them, I was always very happy when mom and dad returned so I could go home. I would like to see Miss Boodarich so I could tell her I had a crush on her. By the way, the only crush I ever had on a female teacher. If I won $100 million, I'd give 1 million dollars of it to each member of my family to do with what they want , then spend the rest on planting a new church, cat sanctuary and the rest on us. I lived for 1 year at the college of the Redwoods in the dorm with 2 roommates. My first roommate, was a guy who was a jeep fanatic. My 2nd roommate Dan was a totally cool deadhead. I partied a lot but really enjoyed most of my classes......probably because I was high. I would be truly happy at a beach anywhere with my gorgeous wife Cheryl My current age is 46. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be oooooold. I was so completely wrong. Selling ride tickets for Butler Amusements The one do over would be not to have ever used drugs or drank taking my education seriously. What would surprise everyone at my high school reunion would be that I never really changed I share my home with Wife and 2 cats, which I find extremely happy. In 10 years, I hope to be 10 years older and still as happy as I am right now. I'm going to get there by continuing to do what I have been doing. My first job was at Ace hardware, where I got paid minimum wage to dump trash, sweep the floors and put together whealbarrows, bicycles, and lawnmowers. What I remember most about it is going to the plumming department and making pot pipes. Working on the Madaket.....the Humboldt Bay tour boat
