Tim's Story

Another year gone by. It seems time flies whether you are having fun or not when you get past 50! It is time for my yearly update and I am pleased to report not much difference than last years update.
I continue to work for the Army as a contractor. I did spend a few months in Iraq and now Afghanistan. The most recent being a 30 day stint at Bagram Air Field (North of Kabul). I have a few photos of Bagram and the surrounding area. I will try to load them up today.
Sandra has retired from the military as a Lt Col in the Air Force and she has been working around town at various hospitals. Both of us are in countdown mode for retirement.
We are finally getting settled in our new home in NW Tucson. I enjoy the city and living so close to the mountains. Fortunately for me my trips to Sierra Vista got cut down drastically. The 3 hour + round trip was getting old.

re that will change after his tour in Korea is up. Brennan got married on 31 DEC 08.
Sandra¿s mom has moved in with us and we are enjoying her company and the opportunity to spend time with her on a daily basis. She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on OCT 08 and after surgery has become one of a small percentage of survivors of this particularly viscous strain of cancer.

Just realized this is out of date. We have relocated back in Tucson and I have been home from Iraq for about 1 year. I still work for the Army and even though I spend most of my time in Sierra Vista (3 hr round trip commute) I enjoy the work. In about 7 more years it won¿t matter because Sandra and I will be retired!

I married Sandy Powles (1972). We have been in Colorado Springs since 1994. We have two children. Sandra works at US Space Command, and I divide my time between my work and coaching middle school basketball for district 11. We are in the process of moving back to Arizona.
