Tim's Story
About Tim Keefe
I joined the Navy following my graduation from Amity High School.
I was fortunate to have attended several electronics schools at the beginning of my enlistment and following those, I went for specialized training to become an air traffic controller. But, I wasn'ÃÂÃÂt in a tower or a center, I was in an airplane. I flew in early AWACS aircraft out of Argentia Newfoundland and Keflavik Iceland for about 2 years. During the last eight months of my commitment, I flew in a smaller version which flew off aircraft carriers. I directed fighters and other aircraft to their targets or designated locations as well as conducted other electronic surveillance duties.
Following my discharge from the Navy, in Aug. 1965, I enrolled at the Univ. of New Haven and received my BachelorâÃÂÃÂs Degree in Marketing with a minor in Finance in May 1971.
I married a West Haven girl in March of 1969 and we celebrated our 42st anniversary last week. We have 3 childrenâÃÂæBrian 38, Bridget 34 and Elizabeth 27. We have two grandchildren, Kieran w...Expand for more

Following graduation from UNH, I went to work for a company in Branford CT for about a year, and in Nov. of 1971, I was hired by the Burroughs Corporation as a Sales Representative. In 1986, the division of Burroughs that I worked for was sold to The Standard Register Company, a direct competitor. I worked for the two companies for 37 years and retired on 9/30/2008. During my career with Standard and Burroughs, I held several different positions in Sales, Sales Training, Sales Management, Marketing, Product Development, Product Management and Sales Operations & Planning.
During my career, we lived in Rochester NY (twice), The Boston Area, Derry NH, Albany NY, Burlington VT, Tampa FL and our retirement location in Lehigh Acres, FLâÃÂæa suburb of Fort Myers.
We have a 27' ÃÂÃÂsailboat, named The Irish Wake that we cruise in The Gulf of Mexico; also I enjoy woodworking and antique clock repair.
