Tim's Story
Since this is a school oriented forum, I'll keep my story in that context.
I remember grade school at Jack Hille very well, as it was my only school experience in Illinois. My family moved to Michigan when I was 10, so everything that happened at Hille is kind of frozen in time for me. I never got to grow up with those kids, or go to high school with them so my memories are all from a child's perspective. Here's what I remember:
Getting in a fight with John Greenan in the line-up before school (or was it his brother?). I remember winning the paper airplane throwing contest! ;) I remember when some kids came to school with pics of their parents as extras in The Blues Brothers movie, and that their part w...Expand for more
as filmed at Dixie Square. I remember some really cool teachers - the gym teacher had a fro and seemed really hip; the 5th grade science teacher sung us a song that he co-wrote(?) with a friend that may or may not have been the song "If", by the band Bread. I remember we were all playing at recess between the school yard and the far-away playground and one of the kids got hit in the head with a brick! I remember a helicopter landed on or near our school one day, for some reason. I remember going to speech class, because I had a lisp for a time, and walking past a print of George Seurat's "Sunday Afternoon...".
So many memories. Anyone else remember these times or events? Just got on here as a lark. :)
