Tim's Story
I returned "home" to northern Minnesota in 1999, after close to 20 years in the Pacific Northwest (undergrad in Tacoma WA, grad school at U. of Oregon, law school in Seattle, a number of years working in Alaska). Got married the same year I moved back here, and now have 3 kids (ages 7, 3, and 20 months, as of 03/08), plus a 15-year old stepson.

t-time environmental law practice on the side. I also have published two novels and have edited two literary anthologies: check 'em out on Amazon.com sometime!
The quality of life here is very high (recent -30 temps notwithstanding): nearby lakes and cross-country skiing, low cost of living, great place to raise kids. While I still have some lofty aspirations-- literary notoriety? U.S. Supreme Court appointment? ;-) --I'm quite happy with where I'm at in life.
