Tim's Story
Life
48 years with the same woman has been a great adventure and delight. Maryl (Mary Bowers) and I have lived in Aloha, Oregon for the last 28 years. We have four children: David (47), Anna (44), Amy (42) and Michael (39) and two granddaughters: Nissa (20)and Mazzy (16) (Anna's girls).
I taught music in the public and private sector and was a worship pastor in two great churches for 32 years (The Dalles, Portland, Aloha). In 2006 I resigned my church position and we now travel internationally working with local churches' worship teams and leaders around the world as: Worship Without Borders (wwob.org)
We went to Uganda and got to play & work with orphans and widows on Bussi Island of Lake Victoria, as well as teaching pastors and leaders from all over Uganda. Incredible experience.
We taught students at a Bible College in Kamchatka, Russia. By the end of two weeks they all wrote and performed their own song in their style, language and instrumentation. Powerful.
In India...Expand for more
we ministered to widows, orphans, lepers as well as taught a worship conference to hundreds of singers and musicians. Wonderful time there. For 14 years we have taught at the International School of Worship in Lucknow India as well as multiple cities and churches throughout India.
We have also been to Mexico, Malaysia, Finland and Brazil together. And this next year we are looking at Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, India, Mexico, Uganda and maybe Brazil and Europe. Exciting times for us.
We go where we feel God leads us and every time it turns out beautifully. Locally, we do worship seminars and workshops when we aren't traveling.
Maryl is an internationally known midwife with over 650 births and many acclaimed articles in magazines. She just graduated with her Master in Intercultural Studies at Acadia University in Nova Scotia! She is an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and partner in everything we do. She plays flute to my cello and I love it.
