Tim's Story
Born in Oak Harbor, Washington (on Whidbey Island off the coast of Seattle) to a career Naval Aviator and Mother Extraordinaire, my storybook life began as a Navy Brat. Raised throughout the world, Millington, TN / Monterey, CA / Norfolk, VA / Newport, RI / Coronado, CA / Ewa Beach, HI/ Iwakuni, Japan / and Sylvester, GA, in January 1968 I arrived midway through my Sophomore year at Forrest Sherman High School; Naples, Italy, The experiences and friendships made in just one short year would have a profound inpact on my life. In late January 1969 the Navy would transfer the Walker Family back to Newport, RI where this DJC proclaimed (King David to us) "Man of the World" would spend his final High School year at Middletown High School; Middletown, RI. Middletown High School, by the way, is also where Joyce and June Wilson made the worlds best chocolate chip cookies! Thank you to my MHS friends for allowing me to call Middletown my hometown. s been pretty good at Math and Music. Four years later I was graduating with a Bachelor of Music Education degree. While in college, January of 1973 to be exact, I met and fell madly in love with the sweet lady who collected my college tuition payment. We married a year later, January 18, 1974, and she has continued collecting those payments the past 50 years, but I digress.... Graduating in June, 1974, I accepted a position starting a Jazz Band program for the Duval County School System at Terry Parker High School in Jacksonville, Florida. Diane and I have lived here ever since. I left teaching after four years a business career. Along the way my lovely bride has presented me with three sons, each a gift from God. They in turn have blessed us with a Daughter-in-Love, Amy, and two above average to be sure Grandsons. The Good Lord has blessed me beyond measure and I have the good fortune to know it! Every individual who reads this story has probably had some influence on my life and I thank you, good and bad. I've yet to accomplish all that I'd like but it ain't over yet! If you find yourself in the Jacksonville, FL area, we love reacquainting.
