Timothy's Story
Life
I was married (my wife's name is EVE) in November of 1999 at the Church where I sing. It was great - my choir sang a full mass and we all partied like it was 1999 (it was). Afterward, we went on a TransAtlantic cruise for two weeks. I also have three step-sons (Ivan, Dani, and Adrian:now adults). Ivan lives in Kentucky, is married, and I now have two GRAND DAUGHTERS! I currently live in Richmond, VA within city limits but just outside the city proper. I sang professionally in both the Catholic Church (Church of the Little Flower in Bethesda, MD for 15 yrs.) for the past 18 years and a Jewish Synogogue (Adas Israel in Washington, DC) for the past 6 years. For 18 years, I performed as a soloist at places including The Kennedy Center and Constitution Hall.
College
I graduated from Catholic University in 1992. I started working my first full-time job in 1990 and took night classes (I had a major ski accident in 1987 and only took minimal classes - plus, I'm not too bright and I had my Senior Vocal Recital in January 2002).
Workplace
My first 'real' job was working for Deloitte & Touche in 1990. My mom died in 1992 and I decided I would do something I really liked. I fell into a job purchasing COMIC BOOKS and geeky things fo...Expand for more
r a major catalog company based in Manassas, VA. I also worked for their retail part of the company as a store manager for 2 years. I then moved into some techie-temp jobs (Testing Software Games - I have credit on one!) and landed a job with MCI in an R&D group developing Fractal video compression (I know it sounds geeky). When the layoffs settled, I was out of work for awhile (luckily my wife found a great job the week after my layoff). I finally found a contractor job with ExxonMobil for 3 years and used the contacts there to work for an Inspection Services company as the Global Coordinator for the ExxonMobil account in 2005. It has improved my geographical knowledge on a LARGE scale (at least for PORT cities). It has also been interesting to be in constant communication with offices worldwide - there are very different ideas around the world.
We moved to Richmond, VA July 2013. My youngest son was married March 21, 2015 and I was the best man - as if I did not have enough to do? I currently have 4 grandchildren. My wife died in January 2019 and that year and 2020 have been a readjustment (2020 also the year of Covid, so I am not alone in that). I have left the singing phase of my life, and have picked up ballroom dancing.
