Timothy's Story
Okay, I'm going to be totally honest. I haven't kept in touch with ANYONE from Concordia. Nobody. None. Zilch.
Zip.
Though, I have wanted to get back in touch with people from OH SO LONG AGO!
I recognize names galore, but puting names to faces - not so good.
*laughing* I'm still a nut-case - and try to be as humorous as possible...
But high school (looking back now) was such a troubling time - I internalized a lot of the 'crap' that was going on in my life and kind of was on "auto pilot" most of the time.
BUT -- I do wanna get back in touch with people. I mean, it's been *gulp* 25 years (I cannot believe it).
Since Fort Wayne, I have lived (and in this order, too) in Saint Paul (MN), Milwaukee (WI), Memphis (TN), New York City (NY), Minneapolis (MN), Baghdad (Iraq), and now, once again, I'm in Saint Paul, Minnesota. *whew*
I've gone from managing a fast food restaurant to being a hotel telephone operator - moving on to telemarketing and then teaching ballroom dance at Fred Astaire Dance Studios in Memphis. Only to get back into office work at Time Warner Cable of Memphis, transfering to the main office in Stamford, Connecticut (while living in Greenwich Village in Manhattan). That didn't seem to work out, and I landed a job in back-office administrative operations of a couple Wall Street Firms, to run...Expand for more
ning a graphics department for Merrill Lynch, a VP of Administration & Technology of another African-American Investment Banking Firm, to a secretary at a non-profit organization, then a Chief of Staff to a Senior Advisor at the US Embassy in Baghdad, and now I'm assisting the Director of Communications and the President of a non-profit Foundation here in Saint Paul.
Other things that I have done since high school... let's see... I taught ballroom dance at Fred Astaire dance studios for a while, and competed (professionally) in Nashville (the Waltz and Rumba). People that I have considered friends throughout my life include a relative of a midwestern organized crime boss, a former Miss
Universe (she's still a dear friend), the current head of Ameritrade, and the future head of Merrill Lynch (if he's accepted by the board of directors).
I'm single and hating it, have one cat (named Sophie), and love entertainment. I still wanna act, but in the meantime I am starting to write - mostly in my head.
