Timothy's Story
Life
After leaving Atholton, I went off to College Park (Go Terps!). College was so much fun.. beats high school any day of the week. I lived two years on campus in Hagerstown dorm.. then moved off campus to a house with four of my friends for another two years. I took an extra semester to graduate and moved back to Columbia for that.
Some of my best college memories were the roadtrips. Driving down to Key West one year.. and driving out west to hike in the Grand Canyon. Many a night were a smoky or drunken haze.. but that's what college is for, right??
I started off as a Computer Science major.. big mistake. After getting my ass kicked in a couple classes I decided to switch majors my Junior year. I switched to Economics, which I love.
I met the woman of my dreams Senior year, and she dumped me.
I graduated in Economics (Dec. 2001) and started full time at my campus job. I worked there for six months.. meanwhile I got back together with the woman of my dreams. She dumped me again.
I was hired as an economic analys...Expand for more
t with the Census Bureau, where I currently work. I analyze retail statistics for the Monthly Retail Trade Survey. Good work.. but I know that I want to move on to bigger and better things. The cool thing about working for the federal gov't is that they pay for grad. school. I'll be starting at Johns Hopkins in Fall'04 going for my master's in Economics.
Meanwhile, between getting adjusted to work and having to wake up early every day.. I start running regularly. I find the inner athlete that was just under the surface my whole life and lose about 30 pounds.
I get back together with the woman of my dreams. This time the timing is just right and everything falls into place.. we fall madly in love. Exactly one year after our THIRD first date, I propose to her. We're very much enjoying being engaged and will set a date during the Summer of 2006.
Currently I live in a house in the Glenmont area of Silver Spring with four friends. But soon I'll be moving into an apartment in downtown Silver Spring with Amanda. Life sure is great!!
