Todd's Story
Not one to talk about himself I (a friend) is writing this for him.
Todd enlisted in the Marines while in Senior year, and after taking summer off went to boot camp in August of 90, became a 0331 heavy machine gunner and after Marine combat training while in School of Infantry was told his score was to high and they asked him to be a helicopter Crewchief, "Flight crew" (Mechanic/gunner/flight engineer/load master) so he signed up and was sent to Millington TN for Basic helicopter school, where he was assigned the CH-53, or as he lovingly calls it a "Winnebago with a rotor" his favorite job he still says to this day, assigned his own aircraft and able to fly almost every day. after graduating aircrew school and the specific helicopter maintenance courses. his first squadron was HMH-464 Condors in New river NC. where he deployed twice first to Somalia, he doesn't talk about it much other than to correct movie mistakes. after returning from this tour he became an Instructor and NATOPS evaluator (navy/marine flying thing). he spent much of his time on our desert or another's. training aircrew in ours , and you know the others. after re-enlistment Todd was stationed in Kaneohe Hawaii MCB with HMM- 362 Ugly Angles, and continued to do the same but also became the night shift NCO of the flight line "Supervisor" he also shared time in the Engine shop for three months learning about Jet Turbines in detail, and cross trained with other squadron shops like avionics and structures. deciding to transition to civilian life in late 1998 Todd became a FAA A/P certif...Expand for more
ied aircraft mechanic, and after first job at a corporate jet company he decided to become a aerospace Contractor and started working multiple contracts all over the country and world to include a State Dept contract supporting aircraft used in drug wars. In 2000 opened his first business performing lease returns of aircraft for Banks. and continued this teaching/instructing on the side. about a year after 9/11 the aerospace business was rough and Todd closed doors and went back to Contracting running mod teams for all kinds or aircraft and helicopters, up to 2008 when he went direct with Sikorsky in Pennsylvania as a Flight test engineering tech and quality representative. then in late 2010 went back to contracting with Boeing in Everett Wa. on the 787 development running a 10 man avionics team, alos going back to school to become a certified E-learning and distance learning instructor. Taking breaks every couple years and being a Master tech at ATS for 737's on south end of Everett "Paine Field", then went direct with Boeing in 2018 as a Manufacturing Engineer/planner on 777/77X, till the covid and 737 shutdown. during layoff talks took a position for Boeing in Oklahoma city for the AWACS program still as an ME, a year later became a Technical Lead Engineer over all AWACS and BDS (Boeing Defense Systems) programs in Oklahoma city. He still likes his privacy and was quite against this update, but agreed to let me post it after he closed his facebook account for to much privacy invasion, lol. still in OKC still working and teaching loving aerospace.
