After high school I slowly became a semi-pro singer and bass player in Lo&Behold, a Denver-based acoustic-rock band -- with side trips as a jewelry manufacturing apprentice, steel foundry electrician apprentice, street musician, and a host of other part-time jobs to fill in between gigs. hen I discovered computers, and was soon fixing word processing machines in the Loop while spending every waking moment learning how to program. I moved to Silicon Valley and have been happily engaged in making new technology, first at Convergent, then Sun Microsystems (helped create Java), and now at Google.
