Tom's Story
Life
After having lived around the country in places like Washington, D.C., Houston, Miami and Austin as part of a disc jockey protection program, Tom came to San Antonio the
first time in the mid 80's and spent time as part of the cacophony of radio dj's babbling about sticker hits and free slurpee coupons on music stations around town.
After a decade of that, he and a friend decided talk radio could be fun, informative, and maybe allow for the luxuries of life, like food.
Tom's show is a look at life through the eyes of the common man. Common sense and personal responsibility are recurring themes throughout the show. Tom opens up about his views on life that come from personal experience.
Never professing to having been an angel in is wild and wayward youth, an epiphany in his life about 10 years ago brought a change that lead him to the beliefs that he professes every morning on his show.
Firmly conservative in his adulthood, Tom was a liberal from his misguided youth until he began to see what the politicians were doing to the fabric of America under the guise of social engineering. Tom is proud to be a veteran, an American, and supports our President in the effort to end the threat of death and destruction that terrorism threatens to unleash on the world. But he also wants to make sure that you know just because he calls himself a conservative, that doesn't automatically translate to "votes Republican" because that is not always the case.
Not ashamed of admitting that he is a Manly Man, and will pretty much be a "guy" about a lot of things, Tom occasionally will hold forth on viewpoints that may seem a bit contrary to the namby pamby chicken fried trumpet monkeys that make up the leftist liberal lowlifes that live to hate anyone that stands for common sense, personal reasonability, and Truth, Justice and The American Way! (Star Spangled Banner plays here...)

is what parents are all about. John Wayne, Thomas Paine, George Washington, George Washington Carver, Ronald Reagan, John Kennedy, Bobby Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Jr. Martin Luther, Charlton Heston, Hulk Hogan (NOT Hollywood Hulk Hogan, there is a difference) Your Friendly Neighborhood Spiderman, my brother (simply because he is MY Big Brother and has always been there for me. Even when I didn't deserve it.) And every man and woman that willingly has put their lives on the line to give me a land where I can say that I AM proud t be an American."
Serving in the Army in his youth, he spent his time doing army radio, after that, a series of large and small market radio jobs followed. The stories of his life during the 70's and the 80's are legendary, according to a number of former wives and girlfriends. Either legendary, or well, maybe unbelievable depending on whose attorney is talking; Tom was a Top 40 jock in Washington, DC, Colorado Springs, and Houston, before the implosion of 1981. That will be a chapter some day. Tom revived his career in the first half of the decade, and arrived in San Antonio by 1985 for his first tour of duty in the Alamo City, and a series of life changing events that followed leading to the complete destruction of his life, and the rebirth and the rebuilding that lead to who Tom Clay is today. A changed man that talks about life with the knowledge and experience that only living life can bring. At the moment, he is deeply involved in the raising of his two soon-to-be-teenage children.
Tom was the Program Director of KENSRADIO until the Mouse bought it and turned it to radio Dismay. He is married to the Lovely LeAnne and was the happy Ring Leader of The Morning Buzz on
San Antonio's Best Talk 1160 K-E-N-S! Now he is looking for a new home to be on the radio. A compelling storyteller, Tom Clay is a great radio personality and a voice of the common man. Now the Operations Manager and Morning guy at FREEDOM1300 in Beaumont Texas....more to that story in a later installment.
