Tom's Story
Life
Forty years wow! After leaving THS I worked in construction for about two years. I was drafted in the Army in 1966 and was sent to OCS after basic traning. After graduating as a officer in the engineers I was married to Gail Chatham in 67 and we were assigned to Germany until I received orders to Viet Nam in 68. After returning from Viet Nam I graduated from Michigan State as a forester. I am currently employeed with the United States Forest Service and have been since graduating. I've worked almost all my career in the west with the exception of 5 years in Washingtom DC at the National headquaters. Some of the places we've lived are Happy Jack Az. (twice once as we started out and again as Ranger) and Snowflake Az. Currently we live in Helena Montana were I'm the Forest Supervisor on the Helena Natio...Expand for more
nal Forest. Gail and I have two boys and two girls all grown now. The oldest TJ and youngest Erin both work for the Forest Service too. We've got a small ranch that keeps us busy but happy. So far I've been in contact with Bruce Buxton and spent a great evening with him in Reston Va just a few blocks from my oldest daughter small world indeed. Bruce has been trying to keep track of many of you and is a great source of information. I also spent an evening with Andy Murphy in Kalispell Montana and plan to visit him more. It turns out that Andy is a flyfisherman and so am I so we'll pursue that this spring. Helena seems to be the place we'll stay especially now that we have the ranch so if anyone would like to write or visit (fish) let me know.
