Tom's Story

Life Well Gang--We are all pushing over half a century plus--sounds old doesn't it? BECAUSE IT IS! As some of you know, I moved to California in late 1968-- wanted to bring my band out to start at the Whiskey-A-Go-Go on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood--Plus get-in on the low-cost college California had to offer! Oh well, Uncle Sam had a different idea---yes, most of the group was drafted because of a little thing call Vietnam--remember that?! That's a whole other story--After some time and the college thing, I ended up as an Electronics Engineer. During College, I met my future wife and soul-mate, Jan---in probably the worst class experience I had in college--"commanded" by an ex-World War II nurse (this was a health class) that had worked in the VD hospitals-treating Ex-G.I.'s--this was a wild class! Jan & I have been married now 42+ YEARS! We have two great sons, a Lab Retriever, and of course a 2lb. rat of a dog. My wife taught school--all grades, for 28 years--My oldest Mark, attended Chapman University, Orange, California, under an opera scholarship ( you know us Italians) Graduated in 2004 with a BA in Graphic Design and a 3.86GPA!. My youngest, Clif, finished the 9th grade and a straight-A student---gets it from his mom! He is quitting high school after this year and h...Expand for more
as been asked to Start College in a Robotics Course of study (he also gets it from his Mom!) He has his A.S. degree in Robotics, BS in Engineering and graduate work in Robotics at Texas Tech, all by his 22nd .He joined the US Navy and is on an aircraft carrier as a Nuclear Engineer. I have been working for the same company for about 30+ years as the Director of Engineering--I design power conversion components for commercial and military aircraft. Believe it or not, I am still "Playing-in-the-Band,"like the old Greatful Dead song states. I play in a Christian Rock-Blues Band called "Daybreak"---have been for about 20+ years. We do concerts in the jails and prisons all over Southern California (for fun we play at other spots as well). For recreation we explore the desert--old ghost towns and mines, in our 4X4's (Mark in his '77 International Scout, Clif in His '86 Jeep Comanche, and accompanied by us in our '74 CJ-5 Jeep) Yes,indeed--I have some adventure left in my old bones! I hope, before we all get too old, we can get a reunion together, at least before our 60th. PEACE-LUV-DOVE to all!
