Tom's Story
I was born in Victoria, BC and continues to live here. Tom was married to Jill Croft (nee Murray) for 46 years. Jill died November 2, 2018 from pancreatic cancer.
My schools include Mt. Douglas High School, Landsdowne High School, Doncaster School. I later attended BCIT and University of Victoria, I worked as a "Used House Salesmen" with Royal LePage Coast Capital Realty for 30 years, Prior to that I spent 15 years in the Banking industry with Coast Capital Savings, Bank of BC, and TD Bank. My banking career took me to Vancouver, Whitehorse and Calgary.
I retired from Royal LePage in 2017 and as a municipal Councillor from the District of Oak Bay in 2018.
I have two daughters Heather and Jena, both of them live in Victoria with their spouses Duncan and Jer respectively. He has four grandchildren Mya, Naomi, Evelyn and Ethan!
My mum May died June 14th at the age of 100!! My sister Diane died in 2022 from complications from a stroke. My brothe...Expand for more

Jill and I married in 1972 at St. Lukes church in Victoria, This is the same church where my parents and grandparents were married. Jill was a community activist and artist specializing in fabric art. Jill is buried along with my grandparents and father at St. Lukes Church
I have many interests which include playing guitar and singing both sola and in choirs, cycling with the Spokesmen and Romeo Riders. Golf at Uplands, reading and gardening! Now living alone I have learned to cook.
On a cruise to Alaska, where I sang and accompanied a choir on guitar, I met Carol Hartwig! We will be married April 29 this year at the University Club at UVic, our alma mater!
Carol has a Masters in Biology, is an expert bee keeper! Born in Wisconsin, raised in Auburn, Alabama! And, lived on VI for 30 years! Carol and I continue to explore our passions, golf, cycling, gardening, reading, travel and living!
