Tom's Story
Life
Well, let's see here. Changed my name years back by dropping my beloved last name of "Goon". Just use my middle name as a last name now. I spent four unbelivable years on a Diesel Propelled Submarine Tender in the Navy. Had a submariner come up to me and pronounce what a cool ship I was on. I asked "how's that"? He replied how we get to stencil our nicknames on our uniforms. Learned quite a bit about human nature and huge diesel engines.

to work for the Southern Pacific Railroad as a Journeyman Machinist, that means a locomotive mechanic in oily overalls cussing and beating on locomotives in the quest to "Get it out of town". I also lived in Tucson, AZ while working for S.P. in the mid 80's then came back and worked out of the Oakland Diesel Shop again when Tucson was dismantled.
Married Gwyn, my wife, in 1990 (best move of my life) She was originally from Orinda. We now live up near Foresthill, CA in the Sierra Nevada Mountains east of Sacramento. Best to all of you!
