Tom's Story
Oct 2014
College:
Graduated from OSU College of Pharmacy in 1987. Six long years with the middle two the most trying but meaningful. Glad to get it done, hope I never have to do that again.
Work:
Went to Work at Emanuel Hospital in Portland in 1987 and hung it up there in June 2011. Went to work at Salmon Creek Hospital in Vancouver for a new start on my next 20 years.
Have cut back a little to spend more time with my wife who is retired.
Relationships:
Have spent the last 22 years, 17 married, with Terri. She mostly forgives my faults which makes everything else okay.
Home: Bought property in Camas and built a house in 1997. Bought the place next to us in 2002. Raise horses and beef cows (I would rather buy milk at the store and support a dairyman.) Garden and push my lawn mower to feel some peace.
Goals:
Cut back to 24 hours/week at work last year and am happy going to and leaving work.
Don't take things to seriously.

No retirement plans for at least 12-15 years, but will just quit going some day.
Plan to travel as much of the world as we want. Like to go to Mexico or Hawaii once or twice a year.
Still love to read a variety of materials, westerns and detective novels mostly.
Family:
Two kids. Nikki graduated from Gonzaga and is an RN at Emanuel Hospital and delivered twins in March 2011 and another set in Aug 2014. They each are boy and girl sets, and Terri with some help from me take care of the grandkids. They are so much fun, I relate really well to them-play, eat, sleep, repeat or switch up the order.
Son Mike always needing a nurse is still in searching for the meaning of life. He works for a glazer in Portland building windows..
The four grandkids, D and E and F and G are treasures. Happy and full of fun
Religion:
Church of the Great Outdoors. Just walk outside, look around and appreciate all the good that there is, and live life to make things better.
