Tom's Story
Well, I guess it is about time I added some information about myself.
I left King in 1971 and moved to St. Catharines to attend Brock University. I roomed with Frank Auer my first year and we are still really good friends. Married a girl (Shawn) in 1975 that I met my first week in St. Catharines back in 71. We are still married with three children (Pics) I started working at General Motors in 1978 and retired in June 2009. I have some old cars, Camaros in fact, a couple of boats and property up in Parry Sound. On December 23rd. of 2005, I was diagnosed with Colorectal Cancer. Had a bowel resection in January 06 and started 6 months of chemo in March of that year. A year later I was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphositic Leukemia (CLL). ciety Seminar Leader for "Living Well Beyond Cancer, A self management program for Survivors and Caregivers." This is a brand new program. I have also recently taken up Photography and I want to learn guitar. Years ago I studied Classical Guitar but did not get very far! :-(. That is about it for now! Out of curiosity, I wonder how many cancer survivors attended King? Everyone, Have a good one!
Well, I have been retired for 16 years now (in 2009) and I can't believe how quickly the time has gone. I still have the cars but don't go out in them as much and I still do photography mostly landscape and nature shots. Children are grown up and 4 grandchildren now (3 boys and a girl). I still want to travel to Scotland as most of my relatives are there and I want to see the family homestead in Cockburnspath and where my Mother grew up in Edinburgh. Soon I hope. Take care everyone and if you read this, shoot me a note!
