Tom's Story

Life Before I retired on October, 2010, I used to get up and go to work and find myself at good old Washington High! My career is as a maintenance painter for Fremont Unified Schools, though assignments, cover all schools, I was frequently at Washington. Much of my work was graffiti clean-up, which is, of course, poetic justice. I used to put it up all the time, now I take it down all the time. My position allowed me unique access to the restricted demolition area when the old buildings were torn down, and I have a lot of video of the buildings coming down. One very dramatic scene from inside the gym as a wreckingball blasts through. Maybe I'll transfer it to DVD and make it available to interested folks. I'm divorced with four kids and four grandkids. My oldest son got a perfect 100% on his computer vocation college final...Expand for more
exam. No one had ever done that before, so they offered him a job teaching there. I've been a motorcyclist all my life (got my first Honda 50 when I was fifteen). Got my first Harley this year. There is nothing that quite compares to riding a Harley. In the first year I put over 15,000 miles on it (pretend you didn't see this, Mark B.) I spend most of my spare time now either visiting all my children or out on my Harley finding some new back road to get lost on. Although I wouldn't go back, I really do miss those good old days at Washington High. Everything seemed a little more intense and exciting and thrilling then. It really was a different world, wasn't it? Anyhoo, now that I've gone from motorcyclist to (non-criminal) biker (that's what happens when you get a Harley) I guess I can sign-off with "Hasta la vista, baby".

I would like to say something about my friend John Mork. He and I often clash over politics, but politics are a small part of human relations. When I have needed help and support John is the one who steps forward to help

I am posting an exchange between myself and my old friend and arch enemy Michael Swindell. I think it is sardonically amusing. Mike has just sent me a clip that accuses President Trump of failing to benefit average American

Having a great time here at John Mork's crib. Soon as he wakes up I'll buy breakfast. Last night we played "Alternating Youtube choice". Is the word "Crib" even used anymore?
Just a quick note to say John Mork is the host with the most. A very gracious host. I am quirky, and to appease my request to stay up web surfing through the night, he actually gave up his usual bed for one more remote so I
