Tom's Story
Life
In high school you knew me as Tommy. Well, I guess when I moved away Tom sounded more adult. I've lived a roller coaster life since high school. I've lived in Natchez, MS; Dallas, TX; San Diego, CA; back in Ruston; Houston, TX; Taos, NM; back to Houston. I currently live in Pinehurst (northern suburb of Houston). I rode the oilfield boom/bust of the 80's. I've been fairly wealthy and flat broke. Wealthy is much better. I finally got tired of the ups/downs of the oilfield and ran an international parts department for farm tractors out of India and S. Korea for 2 years; however, I found myself missing the oilfield. I've been back at DNOW as an outside sales representative for 15 years. I guess I'm cazy but once the oilfield gets in you; it's there. I've been married and divorced 3 times (don't be mean-I know some of you guys have had screwed up relationships too). No kids; however, I do have three children (Jackson,Sammy and Callie-my 3 Yellow Labs). I'm currently living with Susan Ison (Nurse at Kindred Hospital in Tomball, TX). We've been together for 23+ years and Just bought a new retirement home this past November.... That's pretty good for me. ces now. I do find myself becoming much more conservative the older I get. I'm really worried about the direction this nation seems to be headed presently; hopefully our country will come to its senses and return to its conservative roots. I've become active in voicing my concern and give my time and money in supporting our 1st and 2nd Amendment Rights. I feel too many brave citizens and soldiers have given their lifes protecting our Constitution and Bill of Rights dating all the way back to the Revolutionary War to our present day to "discard" and "rewrite" these Sacred Documents. If you feel the same; please get involved and let your elected officials know how you feel. We are a nation of millions; however, if we stand together, we can be a voice of one. Just remember this my friend,"we have no fear, for if God be for us, who can be against us?" I am in no way a religious zealot or a gun-nut; however, I do feel some of our God-given rights are worth fighting for. Well, that's enough of my soapbox preaching; considering I'll be turning 65 onn St. Patrick's Day 2018 and I'm still breathing is a good sign. I don't get back to Ruston very often these days but when I do it's good to be home. After living in big cities for so long I appreciate the fact that Ruston was a great place to grow up.
