Tom's Story
Life
Attended Stanford 1962-1967, starting out as a physics major, changing to a music major, then finishing as a chem major (BS 1967) (with the assistance of a year's org chem in one huge summertime gulp at UC Berkeley). Moved to Seattle, 1967, to attend grad school at Univ of Washington; left grad school 1969 & got job doing research in neurochemistry; switched to computer programming and support (in research environment) 1985; married 1970 to Elaine; son Dylan 1975, daughter Summer 1977 -- by now, both got undergrad degrees, and each is married, living in N. Calif. and Texas, respectively. Bought a house in 1975, still in it today (West Seattle). Practicing Buddhist since 1969. Sing with Seattle Symphony Chorale since 1995 (bass).

s theories, explanations for why gravity is so weak compared to the other forces - em, strong, weak). Looking forward to the running of the LHC.
Also enjoy Brit mysteries and Japanese Historical Drama.
NEW STUFF: starting to enjoy, and learn about, gardening (nothing exotic, just stuff native to the Pacific NW or capable of thriving in this climate) -- I decided that it is not enough simply to know "green side up, brown side down"! First successful addition to the back yard: 6 sq ft of mint, 60 sq ft of raspberry bushes (yum!) and 6 sq ft of strawberry plants (starting from one mint plant -- beware, mint is nice but it is a weed -- 6 scraggly raspberry plants (each kind of small), and ONE solitary strawberry in a small pot. The strawberries and the raspberries spread; we'll see this year (2010) how well the second year goes!
