Tom's Story
Well, let,s see; my story, I have (4) children Annie (18) just graduated from high school May 18, 2009 not to brag, but I will, I am very proud of all my children. Ann graduated with honors being on the national honor roll and was accepted at the University of Michigan, but chose to go to a collage closer to home with a full scholarship including living in the dorm.
Then I have (3) sons who now live with me after a (3) year custody battles with my ex. Ages 16, 14 and 10, as you can guess I had my children later in life mostly due to my drug and alcohol addition between the ages of 16 and 28. I didn't think I would be a good father with the above mentioned issues.
Moved to Orangeville, IL. In 1967 met my first love Diane; lived there a year father dropped dead in the shower at age (36). Moved back to Ohio, I was uncontrollable by my Mother, got Vickie Grubs pregnant when she was in the 8th grade(not good)her father took her to New York for an abortion; I was totally against it but too young to do anything about it.
I then Joined the Marine Corp at the age of 17 to try and get some discipline in my life.
Lived with a go-go dancer in Springfield, Ohio for three years after discharge in 1975.
Ran around acting stupid for a few more years
Moved to Chicago in 1981 with my younger brother Andy because my older big shot lawyer brother Ted was living there; quit drugs and alcohol and went to night school and got an Associate's degree.
Graduated got married for the first time in 1984 lasted for (3) years was traveling for a living did a lot of womanizing; my bad that the marriage didn't work out.
Work...Expand for more
ed for a company that was bought by Siemens; worked there for 20 years laid off in 2004
¿Job part you can look up at linkedin.com/in/materialhandlingpro
Got married again in I990 to the woman who bore our(4)children; got divorced in 2006 in my opinion due to her being a bit mental and not being able to deal with teenagers.
Reunited with my first Love Diane in 2006 and am now living with her and the boys in Columbus, Ohio
Got a lot of great stories as I am and always have been a little different; like I believe a person should have a good set of values to live by and do so without worrying about what other people think; these our lives and the only person in the world that can make you happy is us. May Peace and happiness be with all of you.
T. Studd, (1860-1931) the famed English missionary who served in China, India, and Africa, once remarked: "Remember the miller's donkey. The miller, son and donkey went to the market. The miller rode the donkey all the way and people exclaimed, 'Cruel man, riding himself and making his son walk.' So he got down and his son rode; then people slanged, 'What a lazy son for riding while poor old father walks.' Then both father and son rode, and people then said, 'Cruelty to animals, poor donkey.' So they got down and carried the donkey on a pole, but folks said, 'Here are two asses carrying another ass.' Then all three walked and people said, 'What fools to have a donkey and not ride it.' So let's go ahead with our work for God and not care what folks say."
Studd also said, "Had I cared for the comments of people, I should never have been a Missionary."
