Tom's Story
Life
Married to Janel since May 1, 1971. No kids, just a couple of DINKS. 2 little guy miniature schnauzers, Shiloh and Tucker. 1 cat, Xena (the Warrior Princess). Living in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia 60 miles west of Washington, D.C. Retired from United Airlines on March 1,2002, after 41 years. It was time. Now I'm working on gettng my golf handicap to a single digit. If I can learn not to be known as Mister Three-putt, it's possible.

About 5 years ago, I sort of fell into a post-retirement job driving the local Lions Clubs district Sight & Hearing Mobile Screeing Units. One is a 1989 Winnebago with a hearing booth, 3 vision testers, and 1 glaucoma machine. The other is a 2000 Thomas school bus (diesel) similarly equipped, but with 2 hearing booths. We do senior centers, health fairs, and a good many schools in an 11 county area making up Northern Virginia. 5 of us share the duties and collectively make about 250 runs a year, screening approximately 15,000 folks for free. Golf sometimes has to take a back seat, which is why my handicap has risen to a 17 from 12 in the last year. I am the Bogie Man.
