Tom's Story

For every single one of us, there is good news and bad news we all must hear. Jesus said: "..I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me." (John 14:6) Heaven isn't earned; Good works does NOT save you. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9) Realize that you ARE a sinner. Being "good" or "nice" can't save you. Our definition of "good' and 'kind" are nothing compared to God's. "But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags;..."(Isaiah 64:4) "For ALL have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" (Romans 3:23) And once you've committed a sin, its on the books. None of your good works can erase or make up for it. Here's just a few of the many sins we're all guilty of: If you've told a lie, stolen something (regardless of value), taken God's name in vain, looked at another person to sexually lust after them, or hated and grudged against others, than you've violated God's moral law and statutes... as we ALL have. Jesus said: “... whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.” (Matthew 5:28) "So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. (Matt 13:49-50) "...it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:" (Hebrews 9:27) No amount of good deeds can ever remove our sin. We must be perfect to enter Heaven, but NONE of us are perfect. Our sins are like crimes before God and you owe a huge fine. It sounds impossible to get to Heaven, doesn't it? But... Now The Good News... God doesn't want us in Hell. "But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8) Jesus said: "I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." (Luke 13:5) The word repent means to have a 'change of mind'. We just stop looking to self, we must stop denying the facts of who we really are, sinful humanity, and realize who God is, what Christ did to save us because of the Lord's great love for us... and then believe and trust Him and HIS works to save you... period. No amount of "good" we do can erases our sins. You must realize the seriousness of sin and turn your faith away from yourself completely, and toward Christ's wo...Expand for more
rks... ALONE, toward His payment He made on your behalf, paying a fine you could NEVER pay. He was the only perfect flesh ever to walk the Earth because He was God manifest in flesh. Therefore He can take the guilt of the whole world upon Himself to buy a pardon for you and for me. Thus, justice (the payment) is satisfied in the courts of Heaven, and when God looks down on you He sees the perfection of Christ upon you. Not because you yourself are perfect, but because Christ is, and His perfection is imputed upon us who believe, and so the righteous requirement for Heaven is fulfilled. This is offered as a free gift, bought by Holy Blood. All that's required for you to have this gift is to simply receive it. How? By believing, PERIOD. Trusting in Christ and His work to save you 100%, and NONE of you. You'll receive pardoned, secured forever, never to be lost again and guaranteed Heaven when you die. Religion of man complicates matters and doesn't get anyone to Heaven, but God's way of salvation is truly this simple. Simply believe 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 "...Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day..." "For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16) DON'T WAIT. "..behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation." (2 Corinthians 6:2) "And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. I and my Father are one." (John 10:28-30) If you've received Jesus Christ as your Savior, congratulations! Now, as a Christian, live out your love and appreciation for God and His salvation He's blessed you with by living for Him and seek to please God. It doesn't’ determine your salvation, rather it proves your love for your savior; its a 'thank you' life. If He was publicly beaten, humiliated and killed for us, to do what we can to please Him is the least we can do. Share the Gospel with others. "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth;.." (Romans 1:16) ...And always remember, Christ is with you. "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." (Phil 4:13) "...I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen." (Matthew 28:20)
