Tom's Story
it's been quite awhile since I have seen or heard from anyone from St. Ed's. Hope that a few people will see this. I spent 35 years in education. The first 14 at Alliance H.S. teaching History and coaching Basketball, Cross Country and Track. We moved to Parma Hts. which is southwest of Cleveland in 1988. I taught and coached at Valley Forge H. S.for 11 years and then spent the last 10 years as the Athletic Director. I retired in June of 2009. Totally happy that I got out when I did. My wife Gayle also taught in the Parma City Schools District and retired in 2011.
We have three grown children. Matt-36. Mary-34 and Molly-31./ Matt is the IT person for a large real estate company. Mary is the buyer for all materials for ages 0-18 for the Cuyahoga County Public Library which has 29 branches.. Molly is in her 9th ...Expand for more
year teaching in Parma. She is at Shiloh Middle School teaching 7th grad Social Studies. We have one granddaughter. Her name is Corinne. She is 6 and a half and is in 1st grade. She is Matt and his wife Allison's daughter.
My parents are both deceased. My mom passed away at 97 in 2010. A year ago we sold our home of 24 years and bought a brand new home in Middleburg Hts. Moved about four whole miles. We are in a ranch on a slab and we donated, sold or pitched a ton of STUFF before the move. I am still active in H.S. athletics. I of some announcing for Valley Forge and hire the workers and run the ticket sales at Byers Field our 11,400 seat Football facility. We have St. Ignatius and Mentor on Saturday night. Should be a full house.
Well that my short version of life. Love to hear from some of you.
