Tom's Story
Life
After high school I went to Houston for 9 months and swung a hammer to make a living. When winter came I realized that I perfer working inside, so I came back to Austin and worked at an electronics repair shop for about a year. In 1979 I joined the USAF and was trained in supporting communications systems. After a 6 month tech school in Mississippi, I was sent to Japan for 2 years and then to California for 18 months. e semiconductor industry with Motorola, this lasted for 15 years until I was layed off. I bummed around for 9 months after that, living off of my severence and unemployment. The summer of '99 I got a job with a startup company that lasted for 18 months. As of Jan, 2001 I've been working as an analyst in the Device Physics Lab of Cirrus Logic. Still in Austin and loving it! I got married Aug 2002. April 2003 our first son was born. September 2004 my first daughter was born.
