Tom's Story
Life
Tom Stott is currently Vice President, Parsons Corporation in Huntsville, Alabama. In this capacity Tom is responsible for coordinating all of the business for Parsons in Huntsville to include business areas associated with Huntsville. Prior to assuming this position, Tom was the Division Manager for the Strategic Systems, Security and Decision Support Divsion of SAIC in Huntsville.
Tom retired from the Army in September 2002 after 26 years of service. Prior to retirement, Colonel Stott served as Deputy Director for Humanitarian Affairs and Landmine Policy in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy. In this assignment, Colonel Stott was the Lead Department of Defense Negotiator and Deputy Head of the U.S. Delegation to the Convention on Conventional Weapons in Geneva Switzerland. Colonel Stott was additionally responsible for initiating humanitarian demining programs in mine-afflicted countries throughout the world and was instrumental in establishing a humanitarian demining program with the Republic of Vietnam, the first Department of Defense program with Vietnam since the end of the war.

His military education includes the Infantry Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, Tow Platoon Leaders Course, Motor Officers Course, Combat Intelligence Course, Combined Arms Staff and Services School, Jumpmaster Course, Command & General Staff College, Jungle Warfare School, Army Inspector General Course, Army Installation Management Course and the National War College.
Tom has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Northern Kentucky, a Master of Science in Personnel Management from Troy University and a Master of Science in National Security Policy from the National Defense University.
Tom is the recipient of the SAIC MDO Employee OwnerÂs Award, the GMD Limited Defensive Operations Activation Special Award, the GMD Certificate of Achievement for Limited Defensive Operations, and the Computer Science Corporation Certificate of Achievement.
