Tom's Story
Life
A bio, huh? OK, I've worked as a waiter, bartender, deckhand on a crab boat on the Bering Sea, timberfaller, sawyer in a shake mill, raised cattle for years, gandydancer (railroad repair), cable splicer, ditch digger, heavy equipment operator, superintendent for a construction company, and an estimator. I owned an excavation company, placing underground utilities for telephone, cable TV, and power companies. Now I work for a municipal power company as a construction inspector. I like excitement, was heavily into whitewater rafting and kayaking. I got away from that when my wife and I had the 1st of 3 beautiful daughters. ping with us. I race offroad motorcycles, primarily endurance type stuff, but also some hare scrambles and desert races. Yes, I've made plenty of trips to the emergency room, no, I can't explain why it's worth it to me. We now have 2 grandsons, 3 1/2 and 7 Y.O. and they both have bikes. I'm starting to look forward to retirement, hope to travel abroad more and tour the U.S.A. on a street bike and by motorhome. There will never be enough time in my life to do everything I want, but I'd like to take some art classes, try my hand at writing, and read lots of books. I'm in good health and God seems to have kept the devil at bay! Life is short and I want to make the most of it. Tom, 6/06
