Tommy's Story
Hello from S.E. Alaska, I'm Thomas. I'm 60. I live in a place where the only way in is by sea or air. A small fishing village in remote Ak, population about 250-600. I am building a cabin in the woods. The area that I live in offers world class hunting and fishing, so I designed it to be a bed and breakfast. It is a stone's throw from the beach. Like me it is work in progress. Pardon the long hair, Numbers 6:5, I promised myself not to cut it till I'm finished. Life here is a step back in time, mostly it is a place where self-reliance is the norm. Hunting fishing and living somewhat by what the land and sea has to provide. No Walmart...Expand for more
here, although Amazon deliverers. I love living here. I go to church, Lakeside Community Church, pray every day, care for the needs of my neighbors and am thankful for all God provides. Cosmo, my dog, is my best friend. We go everywhere together. I would have to describe myself as having a pioneering spirit. Hauling beach wood back to camp, to me is fun. Milling it into lumber is a pleasure. I give thanks for every shovel full of dirt. I liken what I do as a caretaker of what God has blessedly provided.
