Toni's Story
I am so excited that I have joined Classmates! I feel like really good about myself after seeing that I am not the only one that has aged so beautifully. Sometimes I don't think about it. I do not realize that I have gotten older. I don't feel like I'm in my 50's with a daughter 29 & a 22-month old grandson. I did not find the love of my life, for real, until 1992 then he deceased in 2000. Not interested in doing that again. I explained to my M.C. that I am celibate & somebody said, celibate? You mean you sell a bit & give a little bit away? Funny! HaHa! Well, it would take a hell of a man for me to...anyway -Finding my old friends is really exciting to me. Has anybody seen Sandy Jones? I hope you remember me. Was it Morningside H.S. or the summer's I spent at George Washington H.S. (which I should have went there anyway because I went to Henry Clay -all my friends were at Washington). I can't believe I am still mad about that. My Mom thought that I was easily influenced & didn't want me to go to the 'bad school'. So, I went to Morningside. Which I did end up loving. I don't know if I would have become an ol' hippie if I didn't go there. I still like to dance, (like I was back on Soul Train -do you remember me?) Get that Spike Lee movie, Crooklyn and bout 15 minutes before the end you'll see me in a pink button down sweater & gold corduroy pants (that belonged to my little brother, they were baggy & looked like hip huggers, it was the style, remember?). You will trip out! I was on the Dating Game, right out of H.S. I picked & he was younger than me, but he was the cutest -we went to the Monterey Jazz Festival, it was about 1972-73. I was on the Price is Right about 1974-1975, I stayed up there guessing wrong, my friend got picked too! They tape two shows, I got the first one & she was on the 2nd one. And I was on Peoples Court, the case of the not-so-super supervisor, I won. That was about 1986. Yeah, I think I missed my calling, I should have been a TV star. I met a couple along the way. Prince, Isley Bros (oh I could tell you stories about Chris Jasper), Morris Day used to call my home girl- remember that son...Expand for more
g 777-9211? My phone number was 777-2618 (if you knew me in the 80's you had my number- you know it's true)! I like wicker, I always did, I have a lot of wicker (funny). I ride a motorcycle & I have a Schwinn Beach Cruiser Girls Bike, its red! I've had it for over 30 years, big white wall tires. I'm in the process of buying a new motorcycle. I drive a Hyundai, hey, it gets 36mpg! I have been working for AT&T, then Qwest forever! I am very aloof, maybe all that acid from the 70's. I dunno. I just wish I would have had more kids. Dang! Too late now. I still can play backgammon really well, so good that I do not like to play with newbies. Sorry! HeeHee! Kim, you remember how I used to whip you -u used to steal! (((smile))) I'm retired now. Contemplating my next move- it will be a business, thinking about a almost vegan restaurant that has junk food. You know stuff that you want to eat, but it's really good for you. like organic & healthy but tastes like you're cheating! Good idea, huh? Has anybody seen Gayle White? (Grad in '71 from Morningside). My 1st time getting married was in '74 -didn't last long, couldn't take the ... anymo'. Didn't marry my baby daddy either, oh he asked, nah, not for me. That's why I moved to AZ. Did I say that Sandy Jones went to Washington H.S. grad '71, she had a sister named Pera Jones that grad '68 (remember that old David Ruffin & The Temptations song, I wish it would rain? Well, sing that tune-'cause I'm gonna graduate, of the class of '68'). That was so cool back then. Bushandas should have been my class, but I was one of the "Greatful Ones" class of '71 at Morningside, wore red & white to my prom! That reminds me -anybody seen Jules Reed, he must've grad '71 Bushandas? I pray that everyone's life has been exactly what they wanted. If not, just think, it's coming soon. My mom is 86 years old and that makes me very happy knowing that I've got that much more time to be here. Nothing is promised,so, it's better to burn out, than fade away! I hope that you are still my friend & I hope you will send me a message. I can't wait to see you. Love, Peace & Hair grease! Namastay my friends!
