Tony's Story
Since leaving high school, I got a degree in Social Studies Education from FSU, taught for 4 years in Pasco County, Florida (Zephyrhills High School and Middle School), owned a tavern/sandwich shop for a few years, went to law school at FSU (1989-1992), and practiced labor and employment law at the same Tallahassee law firm for 27 years. I most often represented teachers in employment and/or teaching certification matters. I retired in December of 2018.
I have lived exclusively in Tallahassee since 1980, and have been happily married to Jeannie since 1984. Our son, Chris, and his wife,Kim, have a 14 old son and an 11 year old daughter. These bright, sweet grandchildren live just a couple of miles from us, and are sources of great joy in our lives.
We love to travel (around the US and trips to Italy), cook when we have time, eat out when we don't, and share a glass of wine or a beer with close friends whenever possible. For exercise, I like ...Expand for more
to play tennis now (baseball's long been a thing of the past), walk, and golf occasionally. I still love all kinds of music, and play my acoustic guitar well enough to accompany myself for fun or jam with some musical friends when I feel like singing. More recently, with the help of a music teacher/mentor, I developed a solo music act in 2017, and have played professionally at several Tallahassee restaurants, bars, and breweries since 2018. Staying on top of a music act, including promotion, bookings, practice, and repertoire enhancement, is hard work, but it remains a labor of love that allows me to enjoy the thrill of singing for others.
In more recent years, Jeannie and I have traveled to France, England, Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, and the Canadian Maritime provinces. In 2023, we have plans to travel in Ireland and Scotland.
