Tony's Story
Life
Been divorced for more than 20 years, and never remarried. Three children, all grown.
A computer wiz, specializing in databases. Love working on computers, and even though its a job I get paid to do, it's more a 'hobby' than a profession.
No pets...I love animals of all kinds, even the spiders & snakes! ;} However, because of my erratic work schedules, I don't have a lot of time to devote to them, so it would be unfair for me and them to have any.
Have lived in the Las Vegas NV area for the better part of 20 years, but am relocating to the central TX area as a result of a new job.
If you knew me from school, and want to know more, I'd love to hear from you.
Military
Ahhh....the wonderful years of military service! I enlisted in the Marine Corps at a tender young age. Took boot camp at Paris Island, SC, and AIT at Camp Lejunne NC, with additional training in Panama. S...Expand for more
erved a tour of duty in Nam, and stateside was stationed at Ft Polk, LA, as a weapons specialist instructor. THAT was an experience! Not only is Ft Polk an ARMY base, not Marine, which caused a lot of conflicts, but kinda scary training new recruits to use a weapon, kids who never held a weapon, but tried to play John Wayne! Whew! Glad that it was a very short assignment!
All in all, I gotta say this...no matter what your thoughts or feelings are on the military, I honestly believe that everyone, regardless of gender, should serve at least one tour, even if it's reserve training. Military training will instill confidence, respect, the ability to be self-reliant as well as a team member. It will give youths the essential elements of life and survival, without the 'Me' & 'I' syndroms. Respect, honor, consideration, moral values...elements that are sorely mising in todays young people.
