Tony's Story
After high school, I enlisted in the Air Force. After 3 1/2 years, I only 'visited' Little Rock Arkansas and Guam. Upon discharge, I attended college in Huntsville, TX. I received a B.S. in Criminal Justice (what was I thinking??). I moved to Austin, TX and worked at St. Jude's Hospital, an adolescent treatment center. After 18 months at St. Jude's, I moved to Denver, CO and worked as a therapist for heroin addicts at a methadone clinic (what was I thinking??). After two years of counseling, I applied and was accepted into a Masters program at the University of Colorado in Boulder. Upon graduation, I could not find a decent job in the greater Denver area, so I moved back to Houston (What WAS I thinking??). I 'bumped' around with a couple of petty jobs, in the 'social work' field. In 1980, I got married, and returned...Expand for more
to a field I had learned in the Air Force, computer programming. In 1983, I had a lovely little girl, Melissa. I remained in the computer business for another sixteen years, including five years as a Venture Capitalist. I divorced in 1995 and retired in 1996.
I spent the balance of the century in Sugar Land,TX being a doting 'part-time' father, and spending some free time in Colorado skiing, backpacking, fishing, and escaping the heat and humidity.
On April 15, 2000, I met a lady whom I married nine months later, Liz Brigham. Liz had two children from a previous marriage, Mack (1987) and Maggie (1996), whom Liz adopted from Guatemala.
Liz and I live in Boulder, Colorado. We have two dogs, one cat and three horses (what was I thinking??).
And now, I find myself reflecting on my earlier years here on classmates.com ...
