Tonya's Story
Life
Hey, it's been many years since we were in school. Since graduation, I was married to the love of my life (Gene). We have a son Jason. He graduated from Eastbrook in 1990. I am the proud Nana to his son's A. J. & Triston Gene.
I have been a widow for several years now & still live in the Marion area.
I have been at Wal*Mart for 20 plus years. Thank goodness for my job, it has gotten me thru a lot of rough times and I've made a lot of good friends over the years.
My grandson's also keep me busy. A.J. has a daughter now, so that makes me a great nanie. They live with me so they keep me on my toes. It's great having them here. Little Miss Jade is such a joy! Took me a son and two grandsons, but I finally got a girl...hehe So much fun buying girlie things!!! Triston is so into his dirt bike and scares me with how high he's jumping. He's in the 2nd grade and is growing up oh so fast! I miss not having him close by...where has all the time gone?
School
My biggest crush was Danny Walker, boy did I get a lot of grief over him at home. I wonder what ever became of him. Haven't seen him in ag...Expand for more
es!
My most inspiring teacher was Mrs. Conyers. I had her for english. She was always there and very encourging. She was so much fun and made english class a blast!
As for school memories...well, Linda Montgomery and Yolanda Yanez and I had some great times. There are just some things better off left unsaid...hehe I've been looking for Linda for years with no luck and Yolanda passed away a few years back.
The craziest thing I ever did was walk out of a class with a few choice words and not return. Thats a long story and not to be told here.
Workplace
Cashering at the Hi-Way theater, secretary at Universal Electric, waitress at the Knotty Pine (where I met the love of my life), working at Marsh in the deli and last, but not least...WalMart*. I've done a little of everything there!
I love my job, but am looking forward to the day I can go part time. Hopefully it won't be long now.
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Linda Montgomery, we were great friends and over time lost contact with each other...I'd sure like to locate her and catch up on the last several years!
