Totsy's Story
Life
I was born on 7/24/42 in Houston, Texas. I went to Hartman Junior High and Jones High School in Houston from 1955-1960 when I graduated I enrolled at the University of Houston School of Architecture 60-63. I married in December of 1962. We lived in the west part of Houston until 1971 when we relocated to Dallas. I never thought I could live anywhere but Houston and it still tugs at my heart but I really love Dallas. I started my first construction company in Houston but when I got to Dallas things really began to gel. We had two sons... our first was Sean Maury Wisdom born in Houston in 1965 and our 2nd was Stuart Granville Wisdom born prematurely while we were visiting my parents in Shawnee, OK in 1969. He was so small and we waited 85 days until we were able to hold him. Sean and Stuart brought great joy to me as they grew up. So many sweet memories, but we lost Stuart in March of 1987 just two months before Sean graduated from SMU. Stuart was 17 years old and a complete car nut like his dad, we were building a Cobra to race when he got sick. Later the car was finished and I kept it for another 10 years but it was not the same, it is pictured on the car page of this website. After college Sean spent many years in a successful music career and is so talented in so many areas it brings me continuing joy to have watched him mature and grow into a fine man, husband and father. The lost of Stuart was of course devastating, we buried him in Shawnee beside my dad and next to my brother Ed. StuartÃÂ grave is in a family area of an old cemetery surrounded by his grand parents, great grandparents and great great grand parents. I was eventually divorced in 1989. In an attempt to find some happiness I remarried and moved to Oklahoma and spent 8 yrs living on a ranch that I had bought in 1984. I returned to Dallas in 1997 and have lived alone since 1998. In 1999 I was diagnosed with cancer and had surgery and radiation and I have been cancer free for almost 8 years. My second wife and I were divorce...Expand for more
d in 2002. I continue to work in commercial construction and plan to work until they tell me to go home (at least 70). I love my work and have always gained great satisfaction from it. I am living alone now in a small home that I completely remodeled before I moved in and it is filled with memories and hi tech gadgets that I love and help me create art, music, genealogy and the Jones website. I have helped established a North Texas group of Jones grads and we get together to party and remember the happy days at Jones. Since 1970 my son Sean has lived in Dallas. He was single and devoted to his music career when he met and married Amy Choice in a sunrise ceremony on the beach at Key West in Sept 2001. Amy is a wonderful wife to Sean and a great addition to our family. I call her my DILFH (Daughter In Law From Heaven). Sean and Amy became parents on March 5, 2004 when Grace Anne Wisdom was born and I finally became a grand parent. Poppa Tom to my darling little Grace Anne. Until March of 2004 he was Executive Director of The Deep Ellum Association a part of the Dallas entertainment scene. 3 weeks after Grace was born, Sean was recruited by a wireless company in Bend, Oregon. They moved and of course I was not in total agreement but just recently returned from my second visit and I am pleased with what they have as a family there. It is a magnificence locale. I am having such a fun time working with so many of you on this Jones website and I am excited as it continues to grow. Totsy Wisdom
Update: My first grandson, Jake, was born August 21, 2007. My son and daughter in law named him after me...Jacob Thomas Wisdom. Sean and family are now in Round Rock, Texas...a 3 hour drive for Poppa Tom here in Dallas. We are starting the planning for our Jones combined 50th Reunion in 2011. I am no longer dating at this time but after my knee replacement this Fall (2008) LOOKOUT! Well it is 2013 and I am having my other knee replaced this week. I was married on 04.06.2013 to Billie Vansickle and we are very happy
