Tracey's Story
Well, after high school I went to college (ASU) and lived with Deena Midkiff for about 3 1/2 years. That was a very fun time. I stayed in touch with quite a few classmates for a while, then finally settled down and lost touch with many of them. I guess that happens when real life begins.
I've been married for 15 years to John Horton from Paragould. Most of you probably know him. I have 2 sons - Drew age 13 and Jace age 8. I also have a step-daughter, Alyx, who is 19 and graduated from Paragould High School last year. She got married in November. Yikes! I'm a mother-in-law! John said more like "Monster-in-law" LOL! No, I really like her husband-thank goodness! I told her no babies for a long time though because I'm too young to be a grandmother! OMG!! She better wait at least 2 yrs. when I'm not in my 30's anymore. Well, guess what? Here's an update. She's pregnant with a baby girl due in November. So much for not being in my 30's when she had a kid! Anyway, moving on... I have a Master's Degree in education and I teach kindergarten at Baldwin Visual and Performing Arts Elementary. This is my 12th year to work for the Paragould School District. ...Expand for more
Don't know if I want a 13th year, so let me know of any good jobs I can get with this degree! I used to love it, but anymore we're buried in paperwork! I love teaching and the kids, just not the BS we have to do that goes with it. I can't believe time has flown by so fast. John had his 20th reunion from Greene County Tech in the summer of 08(it was a blast!) and mine will be this year - amazing! I don't see many people from Rector, but I did live on the same street as Carla (Dodd) Williams until March of last year and I've reconnected with Deena (Midkiff) Ball since she moved back. Occasionally kids of people I knew from Rector end up at Baldwin. That's been interesting. Oh, and I work with Stephanie Joiner who is married to Ronnie Joiner (he hasn't changed a bit by the way!) I went to the Bahamas twice in 2009. That was pretty cool. September is better than March if you go. The water's too cold in March! I guess I need to put some pictures on here one of these days when I have free time...wait...what's that?! Anyway, that's it for now. If you want to find out more recent things. Get on Facebook. I don't actually update this one much anymore.
