Tracy Freeman:  

Life After HS graduation attended Community Colleges in CA. In ‘80 moved to my birth state of Minnesota. Attended 2 years at Augsburg College in Minneapolis before transferring again… to Lutheran Bible Institute (now called Trinity Lutheran College), East of Seattle. Received a Bach. Science in Biblical Studies in 1985. Returned to MN and had several jobs, before deciding to go back to school. In ’94 graduated with an AA in Nursing. Have since had positions in Nursing Home, Community Home Care, Chronic Vent./Transitional Care (hospital), Cardiac/Renal (hospital), Assisted Living, Trauma (hospital) and now almost 2 yrs in the Cardiac ICU. Have enjoyed an active church life – serving in various areas of lay ministry and lay leadership. In 27 yrs have traveled in W. Africa, W. Europe, Scandinavia, Canada, Caribbean, Mexico, & Central America. Fall '03, Spr-Sum '04 volunteered as an RN with Mercy Ships (mercyships.org) in Belize & Honduras, doing pre- & post-op care for eye surgery patients. I have been learning Spanish "poco a poco" by going to Guatemala, studying at Christian Spanish Academy (CSA: learnCSA.com) whenever I can (Feb'04, Jul'06 & Mar'07 and have plans to go again Aug'07). I love Guatemala and now have good friends there (missionaries and nationals). My Mom, bro & sis (+ families) eventually moved from CA to MN also. Have wonderful long-term friends (many from LBI). Love/have a lot of laughter & fun with family & friends! Since 6/95 have owned and lived in my duplex in Minneapolis. My Mom rents the other unit and is the perfect renter, and is one of my best friends. What a gift -- to have a Mom and a friend in the same sweet package! She is in pretty good health and active still. She has an adorable dog, Lindy, who is aunty and best friend and playmate to my Abby (see below). May '07 I will start at Bethel University (St. Paul, MN) to work on my BSN/Masters in Nursing Education. Eventually hope to teach nursing during the school year and be able to do missionary nursing during my summers off! I enjoy biking, raquetball, hiking and wilderness camping and canoeing in the BWCA (Northern MN, Superior Nat'l Forest--during the summer) and spending time with family & friends.
