Tracy's Story
Life
Graduated from Tremper in 1989, and promptly went to US Army Basic training the following summer. After Basic at Ft Dix, New Jersey, and Advanced job training (as a medical lab technician) in Texas (with occasional wild trips to Mexico) I attended Marquette University in Milwaukee. I served in the Reserves with the 452nd General Hopsital in Milwaukee, and deployed to Germany for Desert Storm. Returning to Marquette after the war, I worked at the Blood Center of SE WI as a research assistant, then tech later on.
I also volunteered with the Milwaukee Aids Projects as a community speaker. I spoke to teens about HIV, AIDS, and prevention. I got involved with ROTC at Marquette (go figure,) and I graduated in 1994 with a BS in Biology/Pre-med and a minor in Mili...Expand for more
tary Science(18 months late thanks to the war) I entered active duty as a Chemical Officer. I have served in various assignements at Ft Lewis, WA; Ft McClellan, AL; Korea, Hawaii, Ft Leavenworth, KS; Germany, Ft Leonard Wood , MO; Ft Polk, LA, Kuwait and Iraq...Currently, I'm serving with the Joint Readiness Training Center at Ft Polk, teaching others how to serve in combat as I did. Earned my MS in Education from Capella in June. Currently working on MBA through Touro University International. I married my high school sweetheart (Karen Mierta) in 1995, and we have three beautiful daughters, Katie, Addie, ad Emmie. My parents, Gene and Darla, live with us in our home in Leesville, LA.
