Tracy's Story
Life
I have been with the YMCA for the past 9 years first as a part-time fitness staff then as the full fitness director of the Downtown YMCA. July 2001 I started the steps to becoming a firefighter and in May 2002 I graduated Number 2 in my class. I now fight fire for the community I grew up in, Germantown. But I did have to step down as fitness director and go back to part-time employee for the Y to make my dream come true. I could not think of anyth...Expand for more
ing else I would rather be doing. I am married and have no child and plan on keeping it that way. My husband and I are active in search and rescue with K9's and travel the country volunteering to be victims at different conferences. March 2004 and returned to full time as the Sweeney YMCA Marketing Director. I am still a volunteer firefighter for the city of Germantown where I have completed my fire fighter 2 state testing and Hazmat tech certifications.
